Nuklai joins the peaqosystem

What is happening?

Nuklai — a layer-1 blockchain building a peer-to-peer data marketplace for AI and LLMs — is joining the peaqosystem.

Why is it important?

Nuklai will collaborate with peaq, exploring various technical scenarios of complementing each other’s key functions, such as data verification and monetization, for the common benefit of both ecosystems.

What does it mean for the community?

This collaboration will empower you to do more with the data from your devices and earn rewards from sharing it with AI builders.

Does AI dream of decentralized data?

There’s no denying the AI revolution. Large Language Models (LLMs) are improving in leaps and bounds, and what seemed impossible just yesterday is a reality today. If you still don’t believe we’re living in a sci-fi world, just look at the latest ChatGPT update

The thing with sci-fi worlds, though, is that they tend to go sour fast. In fact, we can already see the first signs of dystopia in the US media’s legal battle with OpenAI around data ownership and monetization rights. But how exactly does that spell 1984? Well, just imagine yourself in the place of the media. Imagine if LLMs, instead of learning from books, news articles, and publicly available websites, learned (while their trainers earned) from your emails, messages, and private documents, without your knowledge or consent. Given the data practices of Big Tech, that doesn’t sound all that far-fetched, does it?

That’s exactly what Nuklai is here to prevent. Nuklai is building a blockchain-powered ecosystem for data economies, specifically designed to fuel the next generation of AI and LLMs. By providing the infrastructure for peer-to-peer data marketplaces, Nuklai gives people, communities, and businesses full control over their data. It not only lets them choose what (if anything) gets shared and with whom but also lets them monetize that data.

Nuklai is set to bring a wide array of new AI and data tools to the peaqosystem. It will empower DePINs to monetize their data and leverage it to gain useful insights and create data-driven products. And it’s already off to a good start with Farmsent — the first DePIN on peaq to leverage this collaboration. Farmsent will explore the use of Nuklai’s tools for the benefit of the more than 160,000 farmers it has already onboarded in Indonesia and Colombia. The prospective use cases may include helping farmers source and monetize various datasets such as soil quality or weather data, which could be of great benefit to agritech businesses and consortiums.

“Secure and seamless flow of reliable data is the lifeblood of the entire IoT sector. This is why I’m very excited that Nuklai’s smart data infrastructure now integrates with peaq’s ecosystem of DePIN innovators. Our joint work on Farmsent is shaping up to be a very promising early use case.”

— Matthijs de Vries, Founder and CEO of Nuklai
“peaq is home to more than 25 DePINs across 10 industries, which are all sitting on troves of valuable data. Nuklai will outfit these projects with the tools that they need to start monetizing or otherwise leveraging that data, empowering them to do more with their resources. We are thrilled to be going ahead with this integration, positioning Nuklai as the go-to AI layer for DePIN due to peaq’s clear lead in this segment.”

— Jochem Herber, Head of Ecosystem at Nuklai
“The synergy between AI and the Economy of Things is clear and undeniable. Excellent AI and data infrastructure layers such as Nuklai add a lot of value to the ecosystem and unlock more handy tools for the builders — we are excited to see Nuklai join in.”

— Till Wendler, co-founder of peaq
